Frequently asked questions

  • Why use a canister ?

If your home has mostly hard flooring, or a combination of wood and tile floors or area rugs, or if you want to easily clean stairs, upholstery, drapes and other above-the-floor items, a canister vacuum offers the maneuverability that you need. Especially lightweight and easy to move from room to room, the stretch hose and telescopic tube allow you to get into corners and against edges or under tight furniture in a breeze. For other specific uses (such as cleaning up small messes quickly, for which a handheld vacuum would be more convenient, or for bed and upholstery deep sanitizing), we invite you to look at the products in our Vacuum section.

  • Isn't the highest power the best : shouldn't one power setting be enough ?

No ! Counter-intuitively, the highest power setting is not the best for all cleaning, and should actually be used only on hard floors. Lower settings offer the best performance on carpets, rugs, furniture and drapes, while allowing you to save energy, money and the planet in one sleek move.

  • What is the airflow of the Eco Vacuum ?

Equipped with a motor equivalent to 2400 W for 1250 W consumption, with 23 kpa (depression capacity) and 37 l/s airflow, this canister vacuum creates powerful suction and airflow making cleaning quick and efficient.

  • Does the wand have a power brush ?

No, the device does not come with a motorized brush. It comes with a regular floor brush that can be used in two position, for carpets or for hard floors ; a combination brush for upholstery but also for furniture and stairs ; and a crevice tool. These accessories adapt easily directly to the hose or to the telescopic tube for extra reach.

  • Regular brush, combination brush, crevice tool, which accessory to use for what ?

We recommend using the floor brush for hard floors, tiles and carpet (and all floors generally), as well as for stairs. The combination brush works well to dust off upholstery, drapes, but also for furniture, stairs and walls. The crevice, as per the name, is perfect for crevices (such as dust collecting areas between cushions, stairs, furniture's angles) and hard-to-reach areas.

  • Is this vacuum very loud ?

No, it's actually pretty quiet with less than 64 dBs. There is also a switch on the handle that allows you to turn up or down the intensity of the suction - which makes it more or less noisy.

  • Is this canister heavy ?

Not, weighing less than 9 pounds, the Eco Vacuum is among the lightest canister vacuums that exist. Its small size and maneuverability make it easy to carry up and down stairs, or even to use to clean inside a car.

  • How many dust bags are provided with the vacuum ?

Three dust bags are provided with the vacuum. When needed, replacement bags and other accessories (Hepas filter) will be available for order on the webpage of the product in our website.

  • How do I order replacement bags ? Which kind ?

Replacement bags and other accessories (Hepa filters) will be available for order on the webpage of the product in our website.

  • Is there a third wheel underneath the front of the vacuum or just the 2 large wheels ?

Yes, there is a small 360 degrees swiveling wheel at the front that helps maneuvering and guiding the canister. The vacuum is very lightweight and moves around the carpet with ease.

  • How long is the hose ?

The hose is around 1.5 m, while the telescopic wand reaches 79 cm at its maximum (the handle can be arranged at various length to ensure a pleasing experience, with no back pains involved.). With the 6 meters cord, it gives you an approximate 8.5 radius operation range.

  • Can you reverse from suction to blow ?

No, this vacuum has a grid type exhaust system with an air filter, which does not allow to reverse the hose to blow out.

  • How long is the power cord ?

The power cord is 6 meters (external). A yellow mark on the power cord indicates the recommended maximum cord length.

  • Is the on/off switch on the hose or on the canister ?

There is a large on/off switch on the canister, specially designed to be turned off and on using your feet (or you hand if you wish it). There is a suction adjustment setting on the handle.

  • What is the suction power of the device ?

Thanks to the advanced technology of its motor, the canister vacuum offers the equivalent of 2400 W power while using only 1250 W (maximum power), letting you save more than 40% of energy.

  • Why choose a HEPA filter, and which level is this one ?

A HEPA filter (High-Efficiency Particulate Arresting) is best for dust removing, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers. The HEPA filter used is class 13 (European Norm EN 1822:2009), ensuring you high air quality.

  • What is the use of the suction control device ?

The suction control button, (on the handle of the hose for a confortable use without bending over), enables you to increase or decrease the air flow easily, which is particularly useful when switching among carpets, upholstery and curtains.

  • How to maintain my new Eco Vacuum vacuum ?

Maintaining the vacuum regularly will help ensure its lifespan. Before any cleaning operation, turn the unit off and unplug from the wall outlet. Change the removable dust-bag once the indicator light signals that it is full, and clean the pre-motor filter with water. Put it back into the dust container once completely dry. The HEPA filter (post motor) can also be cleaned in clear water and needs to be changed for a new one from time to time (once every 5 dust-bags in average, or whenever you feel that the suction power decreases significantly despite cleaning of the Hepa filter).

  • What is the lifetime of the filters ? How to obtain new ones ?

The pre-motor filter and the HEPA 13 filter are washable and reusable. They however need to be changed regularly : we recommend to change them when you feel that the suction power of the vacuum is decreasing greatly despite having washed the filters thouroughly. To replace any of these filters, you can order them directly from our website on the product page.

  • Can this vacuum be used outdoors ?

No, this vacuum is designed for domestic, indoors use. You can however use it in your garage, to clean your car for instance : its light weight will allow an easy maneuverability.
