The movement designs the internal mechanism of the watch. It is opposed to the case which encloses and protects it, and to the face where the time and other data are displayed. Our watch has a very precise PC32 mechanism of Japanese origin, guaranteeing a excellent timekeeping ability.
Can I wear this watch when I' m washing dishes ?
Yes, you don’t need to take it away. Being 5 atm or Five atmospheres resistant (which is equivalent to 164 feet), the watch can withstand three atmospheric bars of pressure before it will start to leak. This level will easily withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, or getting caught in the rain, or even for an occasional bath. However, do not keep it in hot water for long periods.
What is my wristband made of ?
The wristband is made of very comfortable and soft silicon, so that it can be worn without irritation during long time.
Is this watch heavy ?
No, with only 45 g, the watch can be worn comfortably for extended periods.
Does the watch have a calendar ?
The Uni Colors Crystal watch includes a calendar integrated in the mechanism. The date displayed at the three o'clock position is seen through a magnifier in the mineral glass lens.
Does my watch need periodic check ?
Our watches are designed to provide accurate and reliable service ; however, when you replace the battery (every two or three years) you can have it inspected by a service center that will watch for any worn parts needing replacement, etc.
How should I care for my watch case and strap ?
Wipe the case delicately with a slightly moistened soft cloth and dry it completely. The strap can be carefully washed in water, and if really dirty, you can help yourself with a soft toothbrush, soap and water to remove the dirt. Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
Loosen the strap in the summer to allow passage of air over the strap undersurface and avoid possible perspiration rash on the wrist. If the strap ever becomes wet with perspiration, wipe it dry with a soft cloth, and generally avoid leaving your watch in direct sunlight to preserve the strap color.
How does magnetism affect this watch ?
Powerful magnetism can affect this watch mechanism. However, whether it gains or lose time or even stops under a powerful magnetic field, it will normally return to normal once away from the source of magnetism (reset of the watch might be necessary). In any case, we recommend to avoid leaving your watch near medical equipment's, refrigerator door magnets, or any element with strong enough magnetism that it may affect the timekeeping.
What is an analog watch, by the way ?
Analog watches are opposed to digital watch. The term refers to the display independently to the internal mechanism in use. An analog watch shows numbers arrayed on a circular dial, and the time is indicated by the motion of 2 or 3 (in this case, 3) rotating hands pointing to these numbers.
What special care should I give to my watch ?
Your watch is a precision mechanism, treat it carefully, avoiding undue scratches and shocks such as dropping on hard surfaces. Remember to wipe it dry from heavy perspiration as often as possible, and to avoid storing it at temperature extremes (as low as -10°C or as high as +60°C) to ensure correct function. This will also preserve the battery lifetime. Finally, avoid contact with chemical substances (gases, mercury...) that may damage the color of the case, bracelet and strap.
