Why should I gound pepper and salt in a mill versus a simple pepper and salt shaker ?

Freshly ground spices will give you both tastier and healthier preparations. Anti-caking powder is added in industrially grinded salts for them to remain in a thin powder. These refined salts lose much of their minerals and their particular taste : grinded salt will allow you to better enhance the taste of your dishes, and as it has more taste, you can add less salt for the same flavor. Similarly, freshly ground pepper grains release much more flavors than industrially ground pepper, which lose its savor very quickly over time (it usually does not exceed three months).
What type of salt can I use in my mill ?

We advise to use salt with a diameter inferior to 5 mm to ensure a better efficiency of the grinding mechanism. Generally, avoid using wet salt (for instance humid sea salt) in the salt mill.
My Electric Dual Mill is not working properly ?

Check that the batteries have been placed respecting polarities. If all are correctly placed, you might have overly filled the containers. There needs to be some free space in the containers to enable the grinding mechanisms to push salt and pepper upwards when operating. Try emptying a little the containers and operating again.
How to refill in the containers ?

To refill the containers, take out the top, which will come by gripping the base with one hand and twisting the top counterclockwise with the other and then fill in the two sections with spices separately. Take care not to overfill.
Can I spread salt and pepper simultaneously ?

No, if you press both buttons at the same time, the system will not engage. Press each button by itself (which allows easier adjustment of the seasoning).
I like (big, small, medium size) crumbs of spices , can I adjust the coarseness of the grinding ?

Yes ! To adjust the coarseness of the grind, you need to turn a little knob on the bottom. Turn it clockwise for a finer grind, and counterclockwise for coarser grind.
Can I use the salt-and-pepper mill for other spices ?

The mill is designed for optimal use with pepper and salt, but you can use it with other spices if you prefer !
What kind of batteries should I use with my Electric Dual Mill ?

Each mill uses six AAA batteries.
How to clean my salt-and-pepper mill ?

Just wipe the exterior of the mill with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. Generally speaking, protect the mill from excessive heat and moisture.
